Many of you will hire a bouncy castle for your family celebration and they are absolutely
safe providing you follow the instructions delivered by your bouncy castle hire company.
If space permits it is always worth hiring an ‘Adult’ bouncy castle as, inevitably, the adults will
want to play. Bouncy castles are constructed differently for adult. Adults using an unsuitable
bouncy castle risk damaging themselves and the equipment. As the Hirer it would be you
responsible for any claim for damages either through injury or to the equipment.
Take a look at the video clips below which show some very dangerous situations developing
with people having fun on a bouncy castle.

What Not To Do When You Hire A Bouncy Castle
Video 1 - Children & adults should never be on the same unit. To make matters worse this is a slide and not a bouncy castle. Any inflatable you hire is designed for a specific purpose and should not be used otherwise.
Video 2 - This shows antics that we have come across before where an adult uses the bouncy castle as a landing mat. Notice how lucky this guy was not to break his ankles.
Video 3 - Never climb on the walls. Notice in the beginning how the chap is almost knocked over the back of the unit. There is a fan and who knows what else behind the unit. Note the near clash of heads as well.
Video 4 - Another case where children & adults should never be on the same unit. . Note also that this unit is on tarmac and should be anchored with sandbags. Wonder what would have been the outcome if anyone ended up on the tarmac?
Video 5 - Bouncy castles are designed for specific numbers. This video shows a classic case of overcrowding that could easily need to a crash of heads, broken teeth etc. Make sure you understand how many participants is acceptable.
Video 6 - Never climb on the walls. Most bouncy castles fan is located behind the castle and are solid units. Some fans have a metal casing. Notice the youngster at the end of the video. Is he really playing?
Video 7 - Somersaults are an absolute no on bouncy castles. Notice how many times she lands on the back of her neck. At the end of the video she is joined by a youngster and her final somersault she crashes into him. Luckily no injuries.
Video 8 - This bouncy castle is of course a toy . We included this video to illustrate that there are all types of unsuitable bouncy castles. Notice how the girls feet are actually hitting the tarmac. They were extremely lucky not to injure themselves.
Video 9 - Here is a problem that bouncy castle companies come across quite often. This is extremely dangerous for participants. Look at the number of times they crash into each other and its only a matter of time before a seam splits.
These videos are not included to put you off hiring a bouncy castle for your party but hopefully will point out some of the dangers that a seemingly fun act could have. Nobody was seriously
injured in any of the videos displayed but we suspect there were a few bruises.
Bouncy castles are great fun when used properly so please
do not let the antics of a few spoil your party.
If you do not want to accept responsibility yourself ask your
bouncy castle hire company for a price for a supervisor.
